VSRT (Very Special Rare Tea) Tea Bag Tea & Loose Leaf - WHITE
A rare handmade white tea from the Nuwara Eliya region of Ceylon, grown at 6,000 feet elevation. The tender buds of the tea plant are hand picked at dawn, carefully carried in a silk pouch and entirely handmade. The buds are sun dried and carefully hand rolled, producing the characteristic silver, needle-like buds, with a velvety texture. Their pale liquor is surpassing light and delicate, elusive and mild on the palate with a touch of a 'greenish' seasonal high grown character in the finish. The beauty of the infused buds adds to the pleasure of this unique brew.
Leaf color is silver green, white with dark green edges, ash and a hint of blue. There are single whole buds and a down feathery texture. Infused leaf is the complete unopened bud of silvery green brown color. This is a complex connoisseur tea with a multitude of flavors. The liquor is 'champagne' in color with very pale yellow-gold highlights and a pink blush. The floral bouquet including roses as well as stone fruit including lychee skins and canned pear. They all combine to draw out a tea that is perfumed and utterly seductive on the nose.
