Considered the finest amongst China black teas, Keemun Tea, from the Qimen precinct of Anhui province, produces a deep red brown liquor. The medium strength brew displays a hint of fruit and a gentle earthiness, with a touch of fruit. It is rounded off in its finish with a characteristic hint of orchid for which Keemun Tea is noted.
Leaf is chestnut with green undertones, some dark green and medium brown specks. Wiry leaf texture with twist and particles. Infused leaf is medium brown with chestnut highlights and a green tinge. The liquor is deep dark green and brown (whiskey tones). Aromas include ripe stone fruit, figs and toasted rice. This tea is medium bodied and bitter sweet. There is a tangy lift of floral attributes, a hint of mocha and in the mouth, it develops a milky sweetness in the back palate. A tea that is flavorful, feisty and eloquent.
