VSRT (Very Special Rare Tea) Tea Bag Tea & Loose Leaf - WHITE
White Tea is the rarest form of tea, consisting of the bud of the tea leaf, the most tender part of the two leaves and bud which are hand-picked to produce tea. Song Dynasty 'Tea Emperor' Hui Zong relished white tea for having the most rare and subtle flavor. White Litchee is hand made from tea buds which are an inch or so long and then tied into a large 'pearl' which unfurls when infused. The enjoyment of this Very Special Rare Tea requires the observation of the pearl unfurling, one bud at a time, transforming over 30 seconds or so into a flower of buds.
Tasting Notes
Individually tied origami like balls of olive green and furry hay color. On infusion, the balls unfurls into a spectacular flower. A delicate smooth, very light bodied tea of pale light gold. There are no potent flavors, rather, the tea aromas hint of lychees, longans and honeycomb. The soft tannins and slight bitterness combine in the mouth and is perceived as a sweet taste. A tea that is serene and charming.
